Pissed at ArmadilloCon
FACT just sent out their flyers about ArmadilloCon. Including the alphabetical listing of program participants so far. Guess whose name did NOT appear under "W"?! But people like Susan Wade -- who's not participated in the con for a good 8-9 years and only published 3-4 stories when she was writing -- she's there. I RSVP'd "yes" months ago too. AND I came up with almost a dozen topics for panels to help out the programmers.

Plus, despite what her friends wrote/told me about her just being so busy and late getting things done, Stina never asked me to teach in the ArmadilloCon Writers Workshop either. She's an awful person, been awful for years, but despite that, the last year that J4 and I coordinated the workshop we not only let her in for free/barter, but we put her in the New York editor's group (and she didn't even have a novel manuscript, which was another informal requirement we had). I regret all of the stuff I did for her trying to be fair.

I'm feeling like all my years of supporting the con with the writers workshop and the other volunteering has obviously meant little to nothing to them. It would be the first time in something like 16 years, but I'm thinking I may not go this year. I'll start a new tradition for myself, go out of town maybe.

Screw 'em.

People are just stupidly careless and disrespectful of other people sometimes.

As a complete non sequitur, why is Bill Crider involved with ArmadilloCon? I know his mysteries--does he write sci fi, too?

Bill is a long-time fan!

He's been in SF/F fandom forever. He also writes horror novels (MacLane is the pseudonym, I think) and writes heroic fantasy for short story collections and gaming books. But yes, he's done 20+ mystery novels, I bet...

If you're doing the workshop again (?) you'll recognize some of the instructors. Don't think Rick Klaw is signed up to teach again, which is too bad...
